2022 STAND AGAINST RACISM CHALLENGE

Thank you to our friends in the Lehigh Valley who joined us for the 2022 Stand Against Racism Challenge in April. In the past year more than 500 people have accepted the SAR Challenge and joined YWCA Allentown in our mission to eliminate racism and empower women. This year’s challenge explored four key topics: Critical Race Theory, Living Wage, Representation, and Reproductive Justice.

If you missed this 21-day challenge, we have great news: All the 2022 SAR material is still available online. Just take a moment to set up a log-in at the link below, and you will be able to access all the in-depth content. You can experience the Challenge in the original order the content was presented, or pick and choose the daily topics that interest you.

Racial justice programming is consistently underfunded. During the 21-day SAR Challenge, we held an “Invest $21 for 21” giving campaign. If you value this important work of YWCA Allentown, we encourage you to join our circle of supporters who share in our mission with a financial pledge. Your support will help YWCA Allentown continue to provide learning and advocacy opportunities to promote antiracism and social justice in the Lehigh Valley region.

HONORING THE WORK

YWCA Allentown wants to thank and acknowledge Dr. Eddie Moore Jr., Debby Irving, and Dr. Marguerite Penick for their leadership in the field of racial equity as exhibited in their 21 Day Racial Equity and Habit Building Challenge and the movement they helped to initiate. YWCA’s content is independently designed, written, and curated by YWCA staff as part of racial equity and social justice programs offered to the community.
