New Choices

Through my education, I didn’t just develop skills, I didn’t just develop the ability to learn, but I developed confidence.

YWCA New Choices

NEW CHOICES is a proven program designed to give clients individualized attention and training to help each person achieve personally and professionally. We work one-on-one and in small groups to help our clients see how to transfer their past skills, prepare them for the job market, and assist them in making professional decisions. New Choices empowers individuals and provides the skills needed to find a job with family-sustaining wages.

The New Choices program is a life-changing opportunity for individuals in transition in Lehigh, Northampton, and Carbon counties to achieve economic self-sufficiency through personal development, career guidance, and job training. New Choices is a collaboration between Pennsylvania Women Work and YWCA Allentown.

During New Choices, participants:
  • Set goals for success
  • Plan for careers
  • Learn how to manage stress
  • Improve time management skills
  • Build confidence
  • Develop a winning resume
  • Practice interviewing techniques
  • Learn how to manage finances
  • Navigate the job search process
